Threedy’s unique instant3Dhub platform for high-performance visual computing makes it easier for customers to tap into the full potential of their 3D data. The technology allows data sets of any size to be used across all application and device classes, connecting them directly with business data and sensors for a wide range of applications.
Fraunhofer expertise and entrepreneurial spirit
The Fraunhofer spin-off’s business success and impressive growth are based in part on an impressive origin story: Many of the scientists involved already worked with a heavy focus on transfer and on their particular market during their time at their original institute, IGD, in Darmstadt. The institute is viewed as a pioneer in digital visualization platforms and sophisticated streaming solutions. The Threedy solution combines these two technologies to create a standardized, flexible technology in response to the many companies that had approached the institute with this specific challenge.
The four-person team made up of Christian Stein, Dr. Johannes Behr, Maik Thöner, and Sascha Räsch joined up with about 15 visual computing experts to establish Threedy GmbH in September 2020.
Threedy’s instant3Dhub for high-performance visual computing allows customers to tap into the full potential of their 3D data. Making these aspects available and usable in near real time, on any device and during any phase, makes it possible for companies to optimize their own processes and dramatically reduce the associated costs. instant3Dhub thus forms a basis for the digital transformation of a large number of industrial processes. Complex design data are thus available directly, from anywhere, across the entire design and construction process without any data preparation or special processing.
